It's time again for Earnings Season

JP Morgan Chase (symbol: JPM) was the first to publish quarterly results in the new earnings season. The bank reported quarterly earnings per share (EPS) of $1.65, well above the $1.52 expected by analysts. In fact, the result was even better than the most optimistic analyst had expected, as the EPS-range in the table below shows. Is this a good omen for the rest of the earnings releases?
